신호위반 과태료 벌금 Fine for violation of traffic signal

We will inform you of the fines for traffic violations!

hello! In my last post, I explained the standards for being caught on a red light camera, and today I’m going to write about fines for red light violations. If you would like to read an article about the standards for cameras showing traffic violations, please refer to the bottom of the article.

There are very few people who intentionally violate traffic lights while driving, right? Many drivers have probably faced traffic fines for unintentional violations. I didn’t do it on purpose, but since I broke the law, I have to pay a fine. You may be wondering how much the fine is for my traffic violation, and whether it’s really this expensive.

How much is the fine for violating a traffic signal?

How much is the fine for violating a traffic signal?
First of all, what is imposed when a traffic signal is violated is divided into two types: fines and fines. Do you know the difference between these two? Let me explain with an easy example! If you are unlucky enough to encounter a police officer when violating a red light, you will be fined. If you are caught silently, you will be fined.

This means that even if the same signal violation is committed, it is divided into a fine and a traffic fine depending on how the crackdown was conducted! To be more specific, fines are fines imposed by police officers through direct crackdowns. This is basically considered an administrative disposition for a criminal act, but of course, since the crime is not serious, there is no punishment or execution. Of course, if you delay and postpone payment, you may end up in big trouble.

If a situation arises where you have to pay a fine, penalty points will be imposed along with the fine. It is said that in the past, if you were caught by a police officer for violating a red light and you acknowledged that it was your fault rather than being pulled over, the fine would be lower… These days, there is actually no such thing haha.

So what about traffic violation fines? Unlike fines, there are no penalty points because the fine is taken by an unmanned camera, but the amount of the fine is about 10,000 won higher. For reference, the fine can be changed to a fine if the identity of the offending driver is revealed. But even if you only save 10,000 won, it’s a bit much to get penalty points, right? If you are worried about this, it would be better to handle it with a traffic signal violation fine.

So, shall we get to the most important point? Fines for traffic violations vary depending on the type of vehicle and the location of the violation. First, in the case of regular passenger vehicles, if a violation occurs on a public road, 70,000 won will be charged. In protected areas, 130,000 won is charged. It is said that a two-wheeled vehicle, a motorcycle, is charged 50,000 won on general roads and 90,000 won in protected areas. In protected areas, fines are generally twice as expensive as fines, so it would be a good idea to be careful.

Let’s summarize the above information about traffic violation fines! 1. If caught on-site, a fine or demerit points will be imposed. 2. The fine is about 10,000 won more expensive than the fine. 3. The larger the vehicle that violates the signal, the higher the fine. 4. Fines and demerit points are doubled for signal violations in protected areas.

I learned about the fines for traffic violations like this. When driving, you will definitely come across unavoidable situations, but I hope you get into the habit of following traffic lights for everyone’s safety 😀 If you found this article helpful, click ♥ at the bottom. Please, thank you.
